Professional Training

At A Safe Space to be Me, we work tirelessly to promote professionalism within the counselling field.

We do this by providing training  placements for students from all of the colleges & Universities across N.Ireland, working in partnership with -

NRC Ballymena

SERC  Lisburn

SRC  Banbridge

NWRC L'derry

Belfast Met

Ulster University &
Queen's University

As well as being a placement provider we have written our own bespoke training programs and professional counsellor training, having recently had all of our courses re-validated and Quality checked by The National Counselling Society.

The National Counselling Society play an important role within the profession of counselling in the UK and in May 2013 the Society was one of the first organisations to gain Accredited Register status with the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register programme.

According to the NCS "training as a counsellor is a substantial investment of time and money and you should choose carefully. There are many different courses which can make the choice a confusing one. In general, a course should include a balance of theoretical study and skills training and should encourage personal as well as professional development. It should, preferably, be recognised by a professional body like the NCS and agree to abide by that body’s Code of Ethics."

We have been assessed by The National Counselling Society which means that in the opinion of the Society the training we offer is safe, ethical and delivered in a competent fashion.
