About the event

ADHD Awareness Workshop for Probation Officers

Improving engagement, reducing risk, and supporting better outcomes

This practical, interactive workshop supports probation officers to better understand how ADHD affects thinking, behaviour, decision-making, and engagement with services.

Through experiential exercises that simulate aspects of living with an ADHD brain, staff will explore how impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, and executive functioning differences can directly influence risk-taking and offending behaviour.

The session focuses on psychoeducation & practical strategies that can be introduced to improve communication, engagement, and compliance, ultimately supporting safer outcomes for service users and communities.

  1. Recognise how ADHD affects behaviour and decision-making, including impulsivity, emotional regulation, and executive functioning challenges linked to offending patterns.
